Inspiration To Become A Therapist

I have always genuinely cared about the well-being of others and taken pride in positively impacting people's lives. Witnessing my clients achieve self-discovery, awareness, and healing are significant rewards to therapy. It is inspiring to help you find hope and peace when you feel hopeless and unbalanced. Being part of your journey to heal, grow, and have a better quality of life is an honor.

Before deciding to pursue a degree in clinical social work, I worked in the medical field for many years. While working in medicine, I realized that I enjoyed listening to patients and making a connection. I also learned how the mind impacts one's overall well-being. This discovery led me to pursue a clinical degree in mental health. I am innately compassionate, ethical, and empathetic, and these traits have led me to become the therapist I am today.

Professional Background

I am also in a two-year mindfulness meditation teacher program taught by Jack Kornfied and Tara Brach, and I will graduate in 2025. I use many techniques that I am learning in the program during my clinical practice.

As a mental health specialist in Arizona, it is essential for me to be a member of professional organizations and continue my education to provide quality care for my clients.

Counseling Philosophies

I believe in providing empowerment and compassion while taking a holistic approach to therapy. My life philosophy guides me to live daily with integrity, kindness, responsibility, compassion, and empathy. It is the very foundation of my counseling philosophy. A quote that aligns with my approach to counseling is by Desmond Tutu— "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness."

I am a strength-based therapist who uses your strengths and resources to help with growth. I believe in building on what you already do well so that you feel prepared to deal with any of life's challenges.

Counseling Approach

As human beings, we are all subjected to the pain life brings, and there is a common humanity to suffering. We all experience hardship, and my experiences have taught me the importance of seeking therapy to live a fulfilled life.

I specialize in treating trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. These are common mental health disorders, and it is essential to seek treatment to manage symptoms effectively and improve the quality of life.

During sessions, I incorporate mindfulness practices, relaxation techniques, and grounding exercises to help regulate emotions and promote healing and well-being.

I use poetry, quotes, metaphors, and stories to foster hope, motivation, inner strength, and healing. They allow people to feel all their feelings, open up without fear of judgment, and gain new perspectives and awareness of their situation.

With therapy, you can gain insight and relief from your symptoms and live a healthier, joyful, and productive life.

Living with mental health symptoms can consume all aspects of life. Let's take the journey to restoration together.

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it."
